During Celebrate Reading, guests will have a chance to hear great stories while experiencing the Zoo’s animal habitats. During our annual “Celebrate Reading” event, visitors will follow a story map to hear a different children’s book read to them every half-hour at various stops around the Zoo. Celebrate Reading runs November 3 and 10 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The Zoo will offer complimentary attraction tickets (limit of four tickets per person) for anyone donating new or “like new” children’s books during the two Celebrate Reading dates. Attraction tickets can be used to ride on the carousel, zip line and train, or feed the lorikeets and tortoises. All books will be donated to Book ‘Em, a local nonprofit helping economically disadvantaged children discover the joy and value of reading through book ownership. Through their Nashville Kids book distribution program, Book 'em provides more than 30,000 books annually to children in middle Tennessee.
